Southeast Electric has gotten all AMI Meters installed. We projected it would take about three years. The lineman took advantage of some cold months and we completed all meter installation by the end of April. We then had some substation work to do, but as of September we are up and running. There have been a few glitches, but we see those as learning experiences.
The board of directors decided to have all annual accounts be switched to monthly billing. This gives Southeast Electric a better opportunity to more accurately determine power usage. Robin has been busy switching those annual accounts and many of our members have seen changes to their billing. Members can still make prepayment if they choose. If you have any questions about this change, please feel free to give us a call at 406-775-8762.
A benefit that we have seen is the ability to detect an outage. Previously we would find out a well has been out for several months. The member didn’t use it and therefore only checked it in December when we needed the read. Now we get daily readings and know if the meter is out, sometimes before the member does.
Learning and moving forward is our goal and we appreciate the members and their support.
