2025 SCHOLARSHIP WINNER
Southeast Electric is pleased to announce that Kayl Hadley from Plevna, Montana has been awarded the MECA Memorial Scholarship for the Southeast District. This scholarship in the amount of $500.00 is funded by individual contributions to the Memorial Scholarship Program through Montana Electric Cooperatives’ Association. According to Kayl’s personal statement she intends on attending school in Sheridan Wyoming pursuing a career as a dental hygienist. Family and community are very important to Kayl and that drives her to return home when she has finished school. She states that her future endeavors are guided by her dad’s advice. “If you are going to do something, do it right the first time.” Kayl is the daughter of Jeff & Josi Hadley of Plevna, Montana. Congratulations Kayl!

MECA Memorial Scholarship - $500 (Regional competition)
Sponsored by Montana Electric Cooperatives’ Assn funded from donations provided in memory of rural electric directors, employees and friends. Applicants or parent/guardian must be a member of Southeast Electric. Applicants must be a high school graduate planning to enter college/Vo-Tech in the fall or who is currently in a college undergraduate program. The applicant must submit a completed application form. The applicant must also detail how school/community/work activities will influence his/her goals and career choice. One letter of recommendation must accompany the application.

Southeast Electric will select scholarship finalists. The MECA Scholarship Committee will then choose the (1) $500 scholarship recipient from MECA Southeast District including Goldenwest Electric, Mid-Yellowstone Electric, Southeast Electric, Tongue River Electric and Yellowstone Valley Electric.
Scholarship funds will be dispersed upon proof of enrollment in the college/university or vocational technical school is received by MECA. Once proof of enrollment is received, the monies will be sent directly to the financial aid office of the chosen school. Scholarships must be claimed by December 31, 2025, or the money will be forfeited.
